Age: 9 Months

Justin is a daredevil. He will not rest until he has a head injury. In one weeks’ time he learned to crawl around, pull out the outlet plugs, open the bottom drawer into his head, pull himself up in his crib, tip over the bouncy seat (in order to reach for Grommit’s toy) and climb over his brother, our legs, the step, pretty much anything in his way. Justin takes short unfulfilling naps because he just doesn’t want to miss anything. He is known to fall asleep during meals.

Age: 6 Months

Justin is quite a character. He smiles at everyone who talks to him when we’re out and about. His whispy hair stands straight up on top of his head. He is very good with his hands, and is always grabbing and wanting to touch things. He is sitting solidly now on his own, for a long time. HE still occasionally falls over, but he’s pretty solid. He’s never much cared for Tummy Time and will almost immediately roll onto his back. Justin has liked every fruit and veggie we have given him. He’s even closed the gap with his weight. He had lost so much weight and struggled to gain it back for so long, he was once a full pound and a half smaller than Joshua. A few weeks ago at his weigh-in, he was more than half a pound heavier!

Age: 3 Months

Justin is a chatterbox. He is constantly talking and cooing and making noise. He is addicted to his pacifier so nearly the only time he cries at all, it involves the pacifier that fell out of his mouth. He’s attentive and listens intensely to everything you say. He follows voices and still shows concern when his brother cries. He constantly wrings his hands and looks serious, he almost looks like a comic villain. We wonder what diabolical plans he is cooking up in that mind of his. His hair is coming back, after almost complete baldness. Now it is standing straight up and it is soft and fuzzy.

so before i was born i was thought to be the smaller baby.  all ultrasounds showed i was to be lighter and smaller in measurement compared to my brother.  but once i was out i surprised everyone and showed my true size.

i still don’t quite have this whole eating thing down.  i do what my dad calls ‘shark attack’ where i take things in my mouth and shake it violently back and forth. i just want to make certain what goes in my mouth is still not moving.

both mom and dad say i mimic empathy. if my brother joshua is crying i’m crying ,too. if my brother is eating, well then i’m smacking my lips, too.  one thing i do that my dad loves is blow kisses: i just pucker and suck once and he says i’m blowing a kiss.

The story so far...

i dare you to read
